Musk's Grok AI-based chatbot will be available in next week
Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, will present the latest release of his company xAI's chatbot, Grok-1.5, on his social network X, next week. This announcement was made while Musk continues to take up the task of progressing AI technology and competing with his rivals which include OpenAI and Google as well.
Grok-1.5 Launch Announcement:
Through his Twitter account, Musk made an announcement that they were preparing for Grok-1.5, with a lot of expectations, since according to him, it would far outperform all current AI metrics. The test version of the chatbot that is enhanced, Grok-1.5, is expected to roll out to early testers of Grok as well as rerun from the firm xAI shortly, an xAI spokesman said in an official statement.
The extent of Elon Musk’s involvement with AI technologies is well depicted by his businesses i.e. Tesla and SpaceX utilizing AI advancements in their products and services. By xAI deployment last year, Musk demonstrated that he has the ambition to go beyond the limits of the existing technology and develop brands new sophisticated tools for AI.
Open-Sourcing Grok:
Last week, Musk published details on the Grok software, which he would open-source soon. This news came a few days after he sued Microsoft-backed OpenAI. Musk Thursday evening accused OpenAI of being misguided as it becomes more profit-driven as opposed to sticking with its original mission. Open-sourcing Grok is the way Musk wants to contribute to the AI community as it will lead to more collaboration, innovation, and the openness and transparency necessary to access this advanced AI.
Musk’s xAI claims himself equal and even a stronger opponent of OpenAI and Google which are the titans in the sense of AI technology development. With the launch of Grok-1.5, Musk wants to invite the market to consider xAI as a true competitor in the AI landscape and try to show that its capabilities are just as impressive as those of the established players.
Musk's efforts will probably have a significant impact on society at large as artificial intelligence (AI) continues to infiltrate many sectors and affect the direction of technology.
