Google is bringing this 'Instagram-like' feature to Google Photos
- Google Photos to add a Sharing Activity page similar to Instagram.
- Users can also like, comment on the shared albums and they also get updates whenever there is an update on the shared albums.
Days before, reports revealed that Google Photos had set plans to become somewhat like Instagram as it adds a social touch.
Claiming that they got a leaked screenshot of Google Photos app in its early stage, it was recently reported that Google is creating a Sharing Activity page inside the app.
This new feature will extend Google Photos into a new capability of being a means through which people can interactively share their photo albums and memorable moments.
What is the New Sharing Activity Page Going to Provide?
The new Sharing Activity page will also resemble something like Facebook, in the way that its layout is established. One of the features that users will be able to see in their unified news feed are updates in the users’ shared albums such as likes and comments on particular photos. Notifications will also notify the users when other people have added more pictures in a shared album.
Originally, Google Photos was an application for photo storage, categorization and simple sharing. The new Sharing Activity page suggested will add a social interaction to the app increasing its versatility.
How it will Benefit the Users
This will enable the users follow up their friends’ activity within the shared albums in real time. You can see when friends or family members have posted pictures, commented on something that was posted, or when they have appreciated something through likes. This feature will make it convenient to track who added which photos and when particularly when dealing with the shared albums.
Release Date and Expectations
Whether it will be available next week and what precise features the Sharing Activity page will have – remains to be seen, but we are looking forward to getting to know them in the nearest future. This new feature will elevate Google Photos to be a more interactive and social application and also how people share and engage with photos.
Looking forward to more developments concerning Google Photos as this new feature is developed and introduced by Google.
