Google Play Store to Automatically Launch Newly Installed Apps Soon
The Google Play Store's inability to automatically run apps after installation is one of its drawbacks. Rather, locate the application within your library or wherever it appears on your home screen. It appears that Google is finally working on developing a feature that genuinely launches recently installed apps from the Play Store, according to a report from Android Authority.
Highlights:
- Google is developing "App Auto Open" to launch apps automatically after installation from the Play Store.
- The feature will notify users upon installation and will be enabled by default.
- Currently inactive, it may work with a new notification system reminding users to open apps within 24 hours.
An APK breakdown of Google Play Store version 41.4.19 was conducted by Android Authority. This breakdown revealed features that revealed work-in-progress code that suggested potential future features. However, there's no assurance that this update will arrive.
They found a feature known as App Auto Open. It will launch an app instantly as soon as it is installed from the Play Store, just like its namesake.
It seems that when App Auto Open turns on, a notification will show as part of this feature. Depending on how it's set up, your device will either ring or vibrate. Although the feature seems to be toggleable as well, it appears that it will be turned on by default.
According to Android Authority, they were unable to get the functionality to function in their testing even using workarounds. Instead, though it's not yet active, they discovered the code.
Unfortunately, this is a much-needed feature, so it's shocking that Google hasn't really started rolling it out to Android 15 devices yet.
App Auto Open might be helpful when combined with the purported new notification for the Google Play Store, as reported by Android Police. If an app is installed and not accessed within 24 hours, the notification system will encourage users to open it.
Once an app is installed on your Android smartphone, it may open automatically or notify you if you forget to open it, assuming both functions really launch. It might also be used in conjunction with the recently introduced feature that permits multiple downloads at once.
