The famous messaging application Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov was arrested in a probe related to the child pornography and Drug Trafficking case. This arrest was confirmed by Macron and different agencies and till now no political motive has been detected.

The Russian-born founder of Telegram has been a part of an investigation into crimes related to child pornography, drug trafficking and fraudulent transactions as shown in his platform. The information of the arrest and others has been unveiled by the French prosecutors on Monday.

"The Arrest of the Telegram president on French territory took place as part of an ongoing judicial investigation," Said French President Macron. He further added "This is no way a political decision. It is up to the judges to decide."

The investigation further included an online platform named Telegram which is involved in various crimes including illicit transactions, child pornography, drug trafficking and fraud, adding more of not communicating with the authorities related to the information, helping criminals by providing them cryptographic services, The statement said.

Telegram CEO arrest also prompted criticism from X owner Elon Musk who commented that free speech in Europe was under attack and asked French agencies to accord Durov his rights.

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has dual citizenship one from France and the other from the United Arab Emirates, recently the ongoing tension between Russia and France ignited the interest of the UAE for which the UAE minister said that it had requested the French authorities "to provide him with all necessary consular services in an urgent manner."

Durov is known as Russia's 'Mark Zuckerberg" whose worth is around $15.5 billion as per the International Agency Forbes. The Telegram CEO recently also said that the government is putting extra pressure but the app should remain a neutral platform not a "player in geopolitics".

Further, the statement has been made by the Russian news agencies and government authorities like the Kremlin but all in veins and still the Durov is in arrest of the French Authorities.
