Apple to Debut Display-Equipped HomePod in 2025
It is already prepared to reinvent the smart home with a HomePod that may come equipped with a display in the third quarter of 2025. The device plans to combine sound with graphics and set its sights on rivals Amazon Echo Show and Google Nest Hub.
What’s New with This HomePod?
New figures suggested that the forthcoming HomePod device would have a touchscreen built in, which would be a rather big departure from the speaker-only products in the current Apple range. The concept screen will act as a central control for smart homes, improving the user’s interface with applications such as FaceTime, HomeKit, and Apple Music.
Piping Direct Connectivity to Smart Homes
Apple is expected to immerse this new HomePod in its ecosystem which will enable people to control smart devices easily. Some of these used gestures to turn on lights, while others used the display to control the temperature through the APPLE Home App and Siri.
Competition in the Market
Even though HomePod offers superior sound quality, Apple’s speaker has never been considered even in near equality in market share to Amazon and Google. Apple could add a display, which would become that crucial aspect that would help Apple take a piece of the budding smart home industry.
What to Expect in Features
- FaceTime Capability: One might include a camera that would allow FaceTime calls from right inside the HomePod.
- Widgets and Notifications: The users can view calendar events, reminder notifications, and weather forecasts on the screen.
- Enhanced Siri Experience: Siri can have a much more vibrant interaction with a visual interface built on top of it, which makes it easier to use.
Apple has not released the price tag but is quite certain to be in the premium bracket. The expected release is for 2025, which should still be enough for Apple to fine-tune the integration to the specifications of the two companies.
In this way, Apple is flexing for smart home, and 2025 could be the year of Apple’s pivot.
