The statement that you and dozens of different users received was certainly sent by the official Twitter. But it is not what you believe it is.

Twitter via a post from its assistance page has verified that while the emails were certainly mailed by the corporation, they were not a part of its actions to mitigate the influence of a probable phishing invasion. Rather, they were delivered by Twitter accidentally.

“Some of you may have received an email recently to confirm your Twitter account that you didn't think of and expect. These were delivered by blunder and we apologize for the same it occurred,” Twitter Tweeted in its tweet.

So, what should you perform in case you have received an email from Twitter? Well, you can do as the firm explains, which is ignore the email entirely. “If you obtain one of these emails, you perform not to verify your account and you can dismiss the message,” the corporation expanded in its tweet.
