Google Meet will be receiving a renewed UI with a host of innovative characteristics for Web in May. It will allow users to set a custom background for video calls for its Web and mobile application too. Besides that, users will be capable to modify and fasten tiles to readjust the meeting. Google Meet will further allow users to resize, reposition, or hide their feed collectively. Google also stated that it is operating on making Google Meet an added network data-efficient by including a Data Saver option.

Google proclaimed the updates for Google Meet via a blog post on Wednesday. To rival Zoom, Google has included designed backgrounds for video calls. Users can choose from a diversity of images and videos but it has not been reinforced whether users can also upload and use their content for this particular option. For video backgrounds, users can pick within a classroom, an individual, and a forest. Infinite bounteous backgrounds are supposed to be continued promptly.

There is an added characteristic being proposed for advanced Google Workspace supporters, who will be capable to obtain Autozoom. This characteristic encourages users to be acutely focused, zoomed in, and placed honestly in the town. The tech giant announced that this characteristic will be operated out in the upcoming months.

Additionally, Google is also upgrading its network data practice by including a Data Saver mode for Meet.
