The worst-hit country by COVID-29, Italy is going to take stringent measures to rescue its population from the mouth of the deadly virus. It is going to make the COVID vaccination certificate/ negative test or recovery from the virus a “green pass” for all its workers.

This is going to be the first and the strictest of its kind measure in the world. Everyone saw the deadly virus consume almost 80% of Italy’s population ever since it struck. So, now the country wants to do what suits it the best.

Anyone who won’t have the pass would be suspended from work and canceled from payroll too. The measures will come into force from October 15, 2021. They will help in vaccination boost across the country.

The green pass certificate is issued through digital medium and on paper as well. They are required to be shown at the time of boarding Italian trains, planes, or going to cinemas, gyms, restaurants, etc. There have been examples of people being turned off from their work if they didn’t have the pass.

In fact, the Italian govt. issued a new law on September 16 that extends the requirements of the pass across all the workplaces, and people who don’t have it would face a fine of Rs.1,29,877.51 as well as suspension.

Though 65% of the Italian population is now vaccinated, the infections are again on the rise due to the Delta Variant. The country has recorded the highest number of deaths and COVID cases in Europe. Thus, this new law is to boost their vaccination campaign and provide more safety measures.

The people have also backed the government’s decision and are set to follow the safety regulations. Not just Italy other countries of the EU including Germany and France are stepping on to issue similar passes.
