Apple Unveiled Self Service Repair Program
On November 17, 2021, Apple unveiled Self Service Repair, which comes with the availability of authentic parts and tools to consumers who are comfortable in performing their repairs.
This program can be accessible early next year in the United States but only for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 for the first, and soon be followed by Mac computers with M1 CPUs.
In mid or late 2022, it will also be available in several other countries too.
At first, this program is initiated to majorly focus on the common modules in repairing services such as iPhone display, camera, and battery-related issues.
Moreover, the additional repairs will be brought up to you within the next year.
Jeff Williams, COO of Apple, said that when customers need a repair, they will eventually have more options by gaining wider access to authentic and genuine components.
He further added that Apple has nearly doubled the services backed up by the Apple authentic parts, training, tools and now we are giving a choice to people to make their repairs using the authentic and genuine parts from Apple.
What's in Apple's Self Service Repair
For the first, a repair manual will be provided to the consumer so that he/she can have an understanding of whether they can safely make repairs or not.
Henceforth, the consumer will use the self-service repair program to buy authentic Apple parts.
Furthermore, a credit will also be provided to the consumers when they return the used parts for recycling.
Consumers can easily repair iPhones 12 & 13 as Apple announces that in their new store, there will be the availability of more than 200 parts and tools for repairment.
This self-service repair program is generally preferred and used by individuals who are having the right skills to repair electronic devices.
On the other side, the majority of consumers prefer a safer and dependable way to have repair with a professional repair provider.
In addition to that, 5000+ AASPs (Apple Authorized Repair Providers) is Apple's worldwide network with simple repair choices which ensures consumer satisfaction by giving both in-and-out warranty services.
Lastly, Apple focuses on consumer satisfaction and retention by providing the best possible services that attract consumers and make their choices effective and convenient. And this self-service repair program is a favorable example of that vision.
